• This guide describes how to add the Structure Filter Extension (also referred to sometimes as 'Popup Search Extension' or 'Substructure Search') to a dashboard that already has the Data Table Extension. The Structure Filter Extension can be used however with native Tableau worksheets as well.

  • Open a workbook with a Data Table extension (follow ‘Add the Data Table Extension to a dashboard’). Go into edit mode.

  • Go to the 'Data Table Feed' worksheet.

  • Create a parameter. On the Side Bar, next to ‘Dimensions’ click on the triangle. Select ‘Create parameter’ from the drop-down list. Name it ‘searchOptions’ (without the apostrophes).  Select ‘String’ from the  ‘Data type’ drop-down list. Click on OK.

  • Go to the dashboard that has the Data Table Extension.

  • Go to ‘Objects’, select ‘Extensions’. Add the Structure Filter extension to the dashboard

  • Save the workbook and reload the page.

  • Select the Data Table extension, open its configuration. Select 'Structure Id' under ‘‘Select Structure ID column (used for structure search)’. Enter the API key (if you copy-paste it, please make sure not to use ctrl+v in Windows, but to right-click on the field, and select paste) and the table name (contact synergy-support@chemaxon.com):
